Shortly after Brian Roberts and Katy and Rick Ebersole met while working at a seafood restaurant in Virginia, they decided they wanted to open their own restaurant together in a friendly small town. After some searching, they discovered Edenton, NC - touted by the locals as the South's prettiest town - without a seafood restaurant...and they knew they had found what they were looking for.
Not long after, in May of 1996, Waterman's Grill opened. Located in the heart of downtown Edenton, Waterman's Grill occupies one of Edenton's many historic buildings, which, in the 1960's and 70's, was appropriately occupied by the old Tynch & Toppin Fish Market.
Since then, Waterman's has become a local landmark for visitors and locals alike. Featuring two dining areas (one upstairs and one downstairs) as well as a bar, Waterman's offers a lively casual elegance. So whether you're looking for a romantic dinner by candlelight, or you're treating the whole family, or you want to have a couple drinks and watch the game for a little while, Waterman's provides a welcoming and friendly atmosphere.
Local favorites include our Crab Cakes, Cashew Crusted Tilapia, Prime Rib, and our nightly specials. We also have a wide variety of wines as well as domestic and imported beers including beers from the local Highland Brewing Company in Asheville, NC. Want dessert?
